Google Respond To Backlash After Prompting That Jews Run Hollywood

By  |

Googles Direct Answers service is usually convenient for getting quick answers when searching specific terms. The service pops up as the first answer in a box through the search engine, usually linking its source to an article or webpage. Unfortunately, holes can form in this service, and there was an anti-Semitic one that people started bringing attention to on Twitter.

When a user typed in who runs Hollywood, it would state that Jews did so, referencing an article from the New Observer entitled Jews Boast of Owning Hollywood But Slam Gentiles Who Say the Same. Why would Google come up with such an incredibly offensive answer like that? Its all a part of the private algorithm the service uses.

However, the quick answer has since been removed, with Google releasing a statement: We assure you that the views expressed by such sites are not in any way endorsed by Google.
