Drew Barrymore & Husband Looked ‘Perfectly Happy’ at Pal’s Wedding
Drew Barrymore and estranged husband Will Kopelman appeared “perfectly happy” when they attended a friend’s recent wedding.
Multiple reports surfaced on Friday alleging the Charlie’s Angels star had separated from her spouse of three years and is planning to divorce.
However, a source tells Us Magazine the former couple showed no signs of trouble in paradise as Barrymore and Kopelman celebrated pal Crystal Meers’ wedding in Ojai, California on March 19.
“They looked really happy together,” said the insider. “They seemed perfectly happy.”
Another onlooker at the nuptials admits the split news came as a shock.
“They seemed totally fine,” added the eyewitness. “Both were really friendly to everyone and he had his arm around her at the reception.”
Barrymore has often gushed about their daughters Olive, three, and Frankie, 23 months, but the pair has reportedly been struggling to maintain its romance in recent months.
“They’ve been having some difficulties, but they remain close for the sake of their kids,” one source told the New York Post‘s Page Six.
The couple started dating in February, 2011, and exchanged vows at Barrymore’s Montecito, California, estate in June, 2012.
Barrymore opened up about her marriage in November, telling Us Weekly magazine compromise was a big part of a successful union.
“My husband and I compromise on a lot of things…;,” the 41-year-old said. “It’s the little things that you can change that can make a relationship stronger. Compromise is about changing yourself for the better. It’s an opportunity for you to become a more functional, better person.”
Representatives for the couple have yet to confirm or deny the split reports, which emerged a day after Barrymore posted a photo of a new tattoo on Instagram. The ink on her right wrist features her daughters’ names.
She captioned the photo: “Getting a great little lifetime note on my arm.”
This is Barrymore’s third failed marriage. She was wed to bar owner Jeremy Thomas for just weeks in 1994, and she tied the knot with comedian Tom Green in July 2001. He filed for divorce that December and their split was finalized in October 2002.
