I have to preface this post by giving the recipe creation credit to my fiance. Hes been on a bit of a smoothie kick lately and has also gotten me on the smoothie train.

I will take credit for the addition of the almond milk. When I suggested using almond milk over regular milk he crinkled his nose (typical) but now loves the flavor. Youre welcome.

So back to the smoothie. I love berry smoothies and always find that Driscolls offers up the best fresh berries. Blueberries and raspberries seem to be pretty common lately so thats what weve been buying. Freezing the berries is the key to getting a smooth and creamy frozen texture to this smoothie.

We like to drink these smoothies before we head to the gym at the end of the day. We found that preparing the ingredients in small zip-closure bags, freezing them and then taking them out when were ready to blend a smoothie up works best. We combine the berries, chia seeds and pomegranate juice in the bags.

Whats your favorite way to mix up a smoothie?
