What day is it?

It certainly has been a whirlwind couple of months for me over here. Between the new home and travel, Ive been busier than Id like to admit! But in between all of the craziness I have definitely made an effort to enjoy the summer while its here. I managed to take a trip out to California last week and have been enjoying the festivals here in Milwaukee.

One of the things that I have learned about running around in the summer is to always have snacks on hand! Healthy snacks, that is. One of the ways that I flavor my summer adventures is with this easy summer trail mix recipe featuring Blue Diamond Almonds. The protein from the almonds paired with a little bit of carbohydrates and a hint of sweetness makes this the perfect snack for whenever Im on the go. I like to either keep it in a small mason jar in my summer bag if Im heading to the beach or I like to put it into a zip-closure bag if Im heading on a plane or walking around downtown. You just never know when you might need an energizing snack.

Because its hot in the summer and I try to keep hydrated, I like to use the Lightly Salted Blue Diamond Almonds in my mix. I like that you still get a little bit of the salty/sweet flavor in this mix without dehydrating yourself with too much sodium.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups pretzel twists
  • 6 ounces Low Sodium Blue Diamond Almonds
  • 12 cup dried cranberries
  • 12 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients together and store in an air-tight container.
  2. Lasts up to 4 weeks.
