Last year, EA Sports put out a cutesy music video to get you pumped for Madden 15. It was fun, a little over-the-top, and starred Dave Franco and Kevin Hart. There’s very little resemblance between the new video and that one. Madden 16 will get you pumped for what would likely be the best movie of the year.
The trailer has everything you could ask for. Dave Franco’s back, joined by McLovin Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who apparently wishes he was Rex Ryan’s kid. Oh yeah, Rex Ryan’s in it, and he knows when you should press Y.
Julio Jones brings the gratuitous karate chopping that’s helped establish him as one of the league’s best receivers, and Antonio Brown’s Neo impression shows why he’s risen to stardom.
Rob Gronkowski with a football cannon? There’s not a whole lot in life that can surpass that. Colin Kaepernick’s impression of Al Pacino in “Scent of a Woman” is one of those things. Hoo-ah. The revelation of his blindness makes what he’s done in his career that much more impressive.
Madden 16 promises to be a tale of loss, redemption, and dinosaurs that will sweep you off your feet. With a deep story mode that takes you to the edge of hell and back, prepare for a mix of action and storytelling that so many games promise but fail to deliver on. Your choices will–wait? This is a football game? I guess that’s cool too.
Madden 16 comes out August 25th.
